KUALA LUMPUR (March 13, 2018): More than 20 cars representing sponsors of Le Tour de Langkawi 2018 in a cavalcade convoy will add to the excitement of the 23rd edition of Asia's biggest race from March 18 to 25.
Apart from its function as an advance entourage to inform spectators along the route that the peloton will be passing their area, the cavalcade convoy which usually moves an hour ahead of the race will also hypeup the atmosphere by distributing momentos and souvenirs mainly of sponsors' products.
Led by traffic police and marshals on motorcycles to ensure smooth passage, four leading cars ahead of the convoy will feature mannequins adorning the four leaders' jerseys contested in the race this year - the yellow overall leader's jersey, the King of the Mountains, Points Classification leader and the leading Asian rider's jersey.
Among the participating sponsors in the cavalcade convoy this year are the Terengganu State Government, Spritzer, Givi, Thule, Forca, Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), KL Hop-on-Hop-off, Sunway Lagoon, Ara Assist, the National Culture and Arts Department (JKKN), Nasional FM, Kopiesatu and six LTdL secretariats.
